The Popol Vuh was written down by K'iche' who remembered this. Twenty-six years separate Tecun Uman's death from the manuscript, and the book's insistence that the K'iche' lineages descend from four named men who carried three named gods out of Tulan is the argument of people who had just been told they were nobody. He is at the other end of this batch from Balam Quitze and belongs to the same document.
