She exists in the text to be the first wife and to be gone. The Popol Vuh's genealogy only works because Hun Hunahpu has two sets of sons by two women in two generations, and she is the first — which makes her the reason the Monkey Twins are half-brothers to the Hero Twins rather than brothers, and the jealousy the second half of Part II turns on is a half-brother's. The book gives her nothing else and this record invents nothing else. Her sons are in this batch; she was not in the registry and neither were they.
