Yaxun B'alam IV

Ten years elapsed between his father's death in 742 and his accession in 752, which is a gap nobody has fully explained and which his own monuments work hard to paper over — he commissioned an unusual quantity of sculpture insisting on his descent and on his mother's standing. A king who has to argue the case usually had one to answer.
