Yơng is one of the hero-brothers of the Ot Ndrong, a kinsman of Tiăng and Lêng within the ancestral house of Rung. The cycle recurrently stages the brothers acting together in raids, feasts and dealings with neighbouring bon, so that Yơng figures chiefly as part of the collective of siblings whose solidarity carries the narrative. Sources differ on the precise roster and ordering of the brother-heroes across the many recorded episodes, but the descent from Rung is a stable frame.
