K'am Ligii Hahlhaahl, the 'Chief of Heavens', is the Creator of Nisga'a tradition, the supreme sky-power presiding over the upper world. He is remembered chiefly through his grandson, the Raven-transformer Txeemsim: in the received account it is from the Chief of Heavens that daylight ultimately derives, and it is Txeemsim who, descending from his line, brought the sun into the sky so that the people no longer wandered in darkness. Less a protagonist of narrative episode than the fixed apex of the cosmos, K'amligiihahlhaahl anchors the Nisga'a understanding of a divinely ordered heaven above the human world of the Nass.
