Everything about her is disputed and the record says so rather than choosing: whether she is Freyja, whether the burning is about gold or about sorcery, whether the war follows from it. What is not disputed is the stanza — they stabbed her with spears and burned her in the high one's hall, three times burned and three times born, and she lives still. No relation is written to Freyja, because an identification the scholarship treats as a proposal is not an edge. Heiðr is carried as an alias on the same record rather than as a second figure, since the poem makes the renaming explicit.
