Diúveí Verehasiúí
Oscan · deity · Oscan Sabellic religion; pre Roman to Roman Italy · deity
One of the two Jovian entries on the Agnone Tablet. The epithet Verehasiús is read confidently but explained variously; a connection with a verb of turning gives the Latin gloss Iuppiter Versor, which is a proposal rather than a translation. Nothing else is known of this cult-form: the tablet lists him, assigns him his share of the sanctuary's offerings, and says no more.
