Evklúí Patereí
Oscan · deity · Oscan Sabellic religion; pre Roman to Roman Italy · deity
Evklúí is called Patereí, father, which is the one thing about him the tablet states outright. The reference literature glosses him as Mercury or as Hades, and the fact that two such different identifications are both on offer is a fair measure of how little is known. What the Agnone Tablet gives is a named father-god receiving offerings in a sanctuary of grain, which points chthonic without settling anything further.
