THE SECOND OF GOD'S THREE TEARS FOR BATRAZ. These are the three great Ossetian sanctuaries, and the epic makes them heavenly-dwellers rather than mere places — which is why they are held as figures. The corpus already had the tears, on Batraz's own record, and not one of the three. Mykalgabyrtæ is additionally a living cult among Ossetian Christians, carrying the names of the angel-saints Michael and Gabriel.
