Chousor

Chousor is Kothar with the vowels worn off and a Greek ending. At Ugarit, Kothar-wa-Hasis is the divine craftsman who builds Baal's house, makes the maces that beat Yam and forges the bow that gets Aqhat killed; in Philo, a thousand years later, Chousor invents iron and is described as a man, because Philo's whole method is to say that the gods were clever early people. That the two names are the same god is one of the clearest demonstrations that Philo is transmitting something real and not inventing it — the Ugaritic tablets that prove it were not dug up until 1929.
