Anzatatera is one of the qedus, the angel-like holy intermediaries of Qemant traditional religion, ranked together with Mezgani immediately below Jakaranti, the foremost of these beings. The qedus are approached at outdoor sacred sites, especially groves and trees wrapped with strips of cloth, where the Qemant offer prayer and animal sacrifice under the direction of their high priest, the wambar.
