Cupido

Cupid is desire with a bow. He is the son of Venus and her constant attendant, and his arrows are the mechanism of nearly every story he appears in — including the one where he is wounded by his own and falls for Psyche. The Romans took him over from Greek Eros, but the name is their own noun for appetite, and Amor is simply Love. He is recorded here as a Roman figure alongside the Greek one, on the same footing as the rest of the Roman pantheon in this registry.
