Felicitas

Felicitas is the luck that the gods attach to a particular man, and in Rome it was treated as a professional qualification: a commander was expected to have it, Sulla claimed it in his surname Felix, and Cicero lists it among the things that made Pompey fit to command. She is not chance, which is Fortuna's business, but favour that can be relied on. No dedication date for her temple is asserted in this record, because this pass could not verify one.
