Victoria

Victoria is the result of a battle, worshipped as a person. Her temple on the Palatine was dedicated in 294 BCE by a consul who had won one, and she became the most politically loaded of all the Roman personifications: her altar in the Senate house was the object of the long fight between Symmachus and Ambrose in the fourth century, the last public argument over whether Rome would keep its gods.
