Begjag belongs to the youngest generation of the divine family recorded among the northern Semang groups of the Kedah-Perak border region. The ethnographic record states that the grandmother goddess Yak Manoid is the grandmother of Kaei (the thunder god Karei) and of Ta Ped'n, and also of Begjag, placing this figure in the same divine generation as the two great gods of the Semang pantheon. Beyond this genealogical position the accessible literature preserves no further individual characterization of Begjag.
