Shekulwavu

Shekulwavu is the grandson of Kimweri ye Nyumbai raised to the kingship at Vugha in the turbulent years after his grandfather's death. Set over a realm already fracturing, he could not command the obedience of his royal uncles, and his assertion of authority brought him into open conflict with Semboja, chief of Mazinde. Semboja's warriors burned Vugha and Shekulwavu was killed, a downfall that the traditions treat as the decisive breaking of the old sacred kingship. Sources present him as the last king of the united realm, a ruler undone by the very kinsmen he was set to govern.
