The Diwata kat Libatan, the deity of the east, resides in the eastern region of the world and governs the rains that arrive from that quarter. She stands opposite the Diwata kat Sidpan of the west, the pair marking the two ends of the world's horizontal axis and together regulating the rains on which the swidden cycle depends. Like the other diwata, she is petitioned through the mediumship of the pagdiwata rite.
