The Diwata kat Sidpan, the deity of the west, dwells in the western region of the world and governs the rains that come from that quarter. She forms a cosmic pair with the Diwata kat Libatan of the east, the two together framing the horizontal axis along which the life-giving rains are apportioned. Such diwata are the beings addressed by mediums in the pagdiwata ceremony.
