Aga Ýunus

Aga Ýunus is the peri wife of Görogly in the Turkmen dastan. A fairy of the supernatural race of peris, she is beheld by the hero in a dream; he journeys to win her and brings her to Çandybil. Sources present her as the wise counsellor of the cycle, gifted with foresight, whose guidance secures the hero's victories and whose warnings, when ignored, bring him to grief.
