Welsh demigod hero of the canonical-Mabinogion Fourth Branch; son of Arianrhod (deity-mother of the Children-of-Dôn cluster) by Gwydion (canonical-scholarly father per Triads and Cad Goddeu, with the Fourth Branch text keeping the paternity implicit-not-explicit). The canonical Welsh reflex of the pan-Celtic *Lugus deity-figure (cognate with Irish Lugh and Continental-Celtic Lugus underlying the Lugdunum/Lyon eponymous-deity). Born through the canonical-Welsh magic-wand magical-conception scene: when Math's virginity-test caused Arianrhod to "drop" two children as she stepped over the wand, Lleu was the small object Gwydion gathered up and raised in secret. Subjected to the three canonical-Welsh tyngedau by Arianrhod (no name unless she names him; no arms unless she arms him; no wife of any race now on this earth) — all three circumvented by Gwydion and Math's combined trickery and conjuration. Given the canonical Welsh Llaw Gyffes ("Skillful Hand") epithet by Arianrhod after killing a wren with a single stone-throw. Married Blodeuwedd (conjured from the flowers of oak, broom, and meadowsweet by Math and Gwydion). Betrayed by Blodeuwedd with Gronw Pebr; mortally wounded by Gronw's spear under the impossibly-specific conditions extracted by Blodeuwedd; transformed into an eagle and flew away. Tracked and restored by Gwydion (the dropping-flesh trail to the oak; the three englynion coaxing the eagle down; the wand-strike restoring human form). Killed Gronw by reciprocal spear-throw through a stone slab — the canonical-Welsh Llech Gronw ("Stone of Gronw") etiology preserved at a real Caernarfonshire site. Resumed the kingship of Ardudwy. Per the registry default, demigod-tier through maternal Arianrhod-deity-line alone; under the canonical-scholarly Gwydion-paternity reading, would elevate to deity-tier by two-deity-parents (Arianrhod + Gwydion).
