Ysbaddaden Bencawr

Welsh · numen · post roman · numen

A father whose death is tied to his daughter's wedding, who spends the whole tale inventing errands, is one of the cleanest pieces of plot-machinery in medieval literature — and the forty tasks are not enumerated here, because the tale itself narrates only a few and this batch records the ones it narrates. The tasks are a list and not figures.
