Nadeiumadi

Nadeiumadi is the second of Wanadi's spirit-doubles (damodede), sent down by the Wanadi who remained in the sky to help the people who were already dying because of Odosha. Thinking, smoking tobacco and shaking the maraca, he dreamed his own mother, Kumariawa, into existence, and then dreamed her death in order to show that the dead could rise again. He carried the Huehanna, the hard hollow vessel holding the unborn good people of a future humanity. When Odosha sabotaged Kumariawa's resurrection, the demonstration failed and death became permanent; Nadeiumadi gathered his mother's bones and left the earth in darkness.
