Ob-Zenaba is the eponymous heroine of a tale in the Zaghawa oral repertoire recorded by Marie-Jose and Joseph Tubiana. Her name, joining a Beria element to Zaynab, places her among the marvellous tales of Oriental origin that Zaghawa tellers took up and refashioned alongside their own animal fables and ogre stories.
