Ashi

Zoroastrian · deity · primordial · deity

The record states the development rather than flattening it: seventeen Gathic occurrences of an abstract noun, and then a goddess with a hymn. That is how most of the yazatas came to exist and it is worth having visible on at least one of them. No relations are recorded — the later tradition makes her a daughter of Ahura Mazda and a sister of Sraosha, Mithra and Rashnu, and the treatment consulted does not, so she carries a solitary verdict instead of an invented family.
