Nasu
Zoroastrian · deity · primordial · deity
This record exists to carry a contradiction rather than to hide it: the lists of the six arch-daevas do not agree, and the treatment consulted gives an enumeration with Nasu in it where the enumeration quoted on the Aka Manah record does not have him. No Amesha Spenta is named as his opposite in that list, so no `opposes` edge is drawn — writing one would mean picking the slot, and the source does not supply it. Weight is medium accordingly. The Vendidad's elaborate rules about corpse-bearing and the dog's gaze, which are the practical content of this demon, are not written here because the treatment consulted names him in a list and does not describe the rite.
