Sisak

Armenian · mortal · haykazuni mythohistorical · mortal

Haykazuni patriarch named by Movses Khorenatsi as a son of Gegham and brother of Harma. On Gegham's death he inherited the lands from Lake Sevan to the Araxes; the territory took his name as Sisakan, and his descendants formed the Syuni (Sisakean) princely house that held the province of Syunik through the historical Armenian period. He is the genealogical branch-point at which the Syunik line diverges from the main Haykazuni descent that runs through his brother Harma to Aram.
