Manarbew is the miraculous son of Manarmakeri and Insoraki, conceived when the charmed fruit struck his mother. At the assembly convened to expose the father of the fatherless child, the infant crawled through the gathered men and handed his token to the ragged, scab-covered old man, revealing Manarmakeri's hidden identity and precipitating the family's expulsion. His recognition of his father is the hinge of the narrative, disclosing the divinity hidden beneath the diseased skin.
