Satrig Ersang is the supreme goddess of the Bön religion, 'the Mother' who heads the tetrad of Four Transcendent Lords. Her name is considered to be in the Zhang-zhung language and is glossed in Tibetan as Sherab Chamma, the 'Loving Mother of Wisdom'; she is also called Yum Chenmo, the 'Great Mother'. She personifies wisdom and maternal compassion, and her wrathful counterpart is the great protectress Sipé Gyalmo.
