Sinaung Toja (also Sinoa Toja) is the queen of the Underworld in the Bugis Sureq Galigo, the female counterpart of Guru ri Selleng. Together they rule the depths of the waters and mirror below the world the sovereign couple Patotoqe and Datu Palingeq who rule above it. It is these two underworld deities who, jointly with the Upperworld gods, resolve to fill the empty Middleworld, and Sinaung Toja is accordingly counted mother of We Nyiliq Timoq, whose ascent and marriage to Batara Guru inaugurates human kingship in Luwuq.
