Lugeilang is the sky god of the middle heavens, son of the supreme deity Ialulep (Aluelap) and, in the Chuukic genealogy, brother of the creatrix Ligoapup. He is the divine intermediary between the remote high god and the world of men: descending to earth, he takes a mortal woman and begets the trickster Iolofath, whose exploits dominate Ulithian and wider Carolinian narrative. His name is widely parsed as 'within the sky'.
