Cao Guojiu
Chinese · deity · mythic · deity
The Eight are socially assorted on purpose — a beggar, a court official, a musician, an old drunk, a woman, an androgyne — and Cao Guojiu is the one who arrives from the top. His castanets, in the sets that give them to him, are court instruments; the group's point is that the Dao is reached from any starting position, and his is the most encumbered one.
