Chiyou

Zhuolu is the founding war of the Chinese people as the tradition tells it, and the registry held one side of it. Chiyou is also the figure the Miao and Hmong claim as an ancestor, which makes the battle a founding story for two peoples with opposite verdicts on its outcome — the corpus carries ten Hmong records and, until now, neither Chiyou nor the connection. The fog is his signature and is the reason the tradition credits Huangdi with inventing the south-pointing chariot: a navigation instrument invented to fight a weather weapon.
