Zhi

Chinese · mortal · mythic prehistory · mortal

Emperor Zhi, son of Diku by the consort Changyi (常儀, a consort distinct from Huangdi's son chinese_changyi 昌意), and Diku's immediate successor — the first of Diku's sons to rule. His reign proving feeble, the sovereignty passed to his half-brother Yao, so the canonical Five-Emperors line runs Diku -> (Zhi) -> Yao with Zhi a brief interregnal figure. Half-brother of Yao, Houji, and Xie. Named in chinese_diku's notes and lifecycle ('Zhi, Diku's immediate successor before being displaced by Yao') until materialized here as a paternal-line son of Diku.
