Daughter of the Sun

Desana/Tukano (Vaupés). English 'Daughter of the Sun' leads; she is the Yajé Woman, Desana gahpí mahsó ('gahpí' = the yajé/caapi vine; 'mahsó' = woman). A female culture-bringer treated as a deity. The Daughter of the Sun and the Yajé Woman are identified in Reichel-Dolmatoff's account; parent set to the Sun-Father accordingly. Variant gloss gaphi mahso.
