Mortal giant Enogie (Duke) of Udo, elder brother and rival of Oba Esigie. Renowned in Benin oral history for superhuman strength (sweeping the city with palm-trees); contested the succession on Ozolua's death and sought to make Udo the capital, but was defeated by Esigie (aided by Idia) at Unuame on the Osse, and is said to have drowned himself in Lake Odighi rather than be captured. Carried in the registry only implicitly (Esigie's prose names the war with his elder brother Arhuaran) until materialized here. Mortal class; the giant motif is legendary.
