Amunherkhepeshef

Egyptian · quartigod · new kingdom · quartigod

Quartigod firstborn son of Ramesses II by his most-beloved Great Royal Wife Nefertari. Crown prince and army commander during his father's Asiatic campaigns; depicted in the Battle of Kadesh reliefs (year 5, c. 1274 BCE) as a young army-commander at his father's side — the canonical Ramesside crown-prince martial-iconography template. Died ca. year 25 of Ramesses II (c. 1254 BCE), predeceasing his father by some 41 years; succession eventually passed to Merneptah after the deaths of all twelve elder Ramesside princes.
