Khaemweset

Quartigod fourth son of Ramesses II by Isetnofret. High Priest of Ptah at Memphis; supervisor of Apis-bull burials at the Saqqara Serapeum (the canonical-Egyptian sacred-bull burial complex he established). Conducted the canonical-Egyptian antiquarian restoration program of Old Kingdom pyramids at Saqqara — the foundational restoration-archaeology project of antiquity. The Demotic-period Khamuas-Setne magical-tale tradition (Roman-period papyri) developed him into a legendary-magician figure. Died c. 1224 BCE before his father; succession passed to Merneptah.
