Anput
Egyptian · deity · mythic · deity
Anput is Anubis in the feminine, which in Egyptian theology is a real move rather than a shortcut: making a female form of a god's name produces a goddess who then acquires a district, a role and a daughter. She is a funerary goddess of the seventeenth nome of Upper Egypt, the nome is named for her, and with Anubis she is the mother of Kebechet. The registry held Anubis by himself.
