Sopdu

Sopdu is the god of the edge of the map, on the side the trouble comes from. The eastern desert and Sinai are where Egypt's turquoise and copper are and where its enemies arrive, and the expeditions that went out there left inscriptions to him and to Hathor — one god for the frontier and one for the stone. He is drawn either as a crouching falcon or, more interestingly, as a bearded man in a plumed headdress carrying an axe, in the costume of the foreigners he was supposed to control: the border made into a person who looks like both sides of it.
