Mortal mother of Odysseus, daughter of Autolycus (son of Hermes) and wife of Laertes of Ithaca. She died of grief in her son long absence and met his shade in the Underworld in Odyssey 11, the scene of the thrice-attempted embrace. Distinct from Anticleia of Epidaurus, the mother of Periphetes. Named in the prose of greek_odysseus as his mother, daughter of Autolycus.
