Alexiares

Greek · deity · heroic age · deity

Minor god, son of the deified Heracles and Hebe, born on Olympus after his father's apotheosis; with his brother Anicetus he keeps the gates of Olympus. His name means roughly 'who wards off war,' carrying Heracles's protective power into a deity of warding (Apollodorus 2.7.7).
