Quartigod surviving Niobid daughter of Amphion by Niobe per Apollodorus 3.5.6. The "pale-of-fear" etymology cited by Apollodorus connects her name (chloros = pale-green) to her terror during the Apollo-Artemis massacre that killed her siblings. Married Neleus king of Pylos; mother of Nestor — making Chloris the maternal-ancestor of the Iliadic Pylian war-contingent through Nestor and his sons Antilochus and Thrasymedes. Some scholars distinguish Chloris-the-Niobid from Chloris-wife-of-Neleus, but Apollodorus 1.9.9 explicitly identifies them as the same figure; the registry follows the Apollodoran identification.
