Quartigod son of Theseus by Perigune (daughter of the brigand Sinis). The Plutarchan Perigune-and-asparagus aetiology (Theseus 8.2) explains the Carian Ioxidae ritual-prohibition against burning wild asparagus and rushes — the plants that had sheltered their ancestress Perigune from Theseus before her seduction. Through his son Ioxus, founding-figure of the Greek-colonial Carian Ioxidae clan: one of the Theseid-paternal lines that anchored Anatolian-Greek colonial-genealogy claims.
