Mortal daughter of Agamemnon and Clytemnestra (identified with the Homeric Laodice). The grieving, vengeance-driven sister at the heart of the Choephoroi and of the two Electra plays: she saved the infant Orestes, lived degraded under his murderers, and on his return recognized and incited (or helped) him to kill Clytemnestra and Aegisthus. Afterwards married to Pylades. Sister of Iphigenia, Chrysothemis, and Orestes. Authored mortal: a scion father and mortal mother.
