Metion
Greek · mortal · heroic age · mortal
Metion, son of Erechtheus (greek_erechtheus) and Praxithea (greek_praxithea); eponymous ancestor of the Metionidae and grandfather of Daedalus through his son Eupalamus. Authored as mortal (both parents mortal; Athenian royal). His descendants (Eupalamus, Sicyon, Daedalus) and the displaced Pandion II are named in prose but are not in the corpus and are not wired. A minority tradition makes Daedalus's father Metion directly, or Eupalamus the son of Erechtheus rather than of Metion; the dominant Apollodoran line (Metion > Eupalamus > Daedalus) is followed here.
