Quartigod son of Perseus by Andromeda. King of Mycenae after seizing the throne from his brother Electryon's line. Father of Eurystheus by Nicippe daughter of Pelops — making this figure the genealogical anchor of the Heracles-Twelve-Labors-taskmaster line. Distinct from Sthenelus son of Capaneus (the Iliadic Argive, son of one of the Seven Against Thebes).
