Quartigod Perseid prince, son of Perseus and Andromeda and brother of Sthenelus and Electryon; father of Amphitryon and grandfather (the eponymous Alcaeus) from whom Heracles took the name Alcides. Distinct from Alcaeus the Lydian Heraclid and others.
