Hiranyakashipu
Hindu · deity · satya yuga · deity
The famous condition of the boon that makes him unkillable — not by man or beast, not by day or night, not inside or outside, not on earth or in the air, not by any weapon — is the reason Narasimha takes the form he takes and acts at the hour he acts. The treatment consulted gives 'neither man nor beast' and the pillar, and this record therefore gives those and does not enumerate the rest of the conditions.
