Prahlada
Hindu · mortal · satya yuga · mortal
He is the founding figure of the bhakti tradition's self-understanding — the devotee whose devotion is stronger than his birth, his father and his own safety — and one of the most widely told stories in the religion. The registry did not hold him. He is filed as 'mortal' although born an asura, because the tradition's whole interest in him is that what he is by birth is not what he is.
