The most retold story in the literature, written down in the Middle Ages and set in the pagan Iron Age, and the corpus held every Ulsterman it turns on and not the woman it is about. Her death is not on the record: the versions differ — she throws herself from a chariot, or dies of grief, or is given to the man who killed Naoise for a year first — and the treatment consulted does not choose one. The record stops where the citation stops.
